The big deal is done !!!

on the last day of the World Championships in Varazdin we have two World title fights.

Croatian hero Mario AGATIC challenge the current USA WKF Champion for Superwelterweight -69.5 Kg / 153 lbs World title belt.

And Ukraine beauty Olena OVCHYNNIKOVA from Union Gym Lviv challenge US top lady Tiffany VAN SOEST from San Diego Black House team Nogueira IN FULL MUAY THAI rules – 56,40 Kg.

They fought already in Las Vegas and Olena has to stop the fight because of an injury.

Everybody knows Olena, “the beauty from the east” , and Tiffany is for sure the best female fighter on west coast in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, but not yet well known in Europe.

Tiffany VAN SOEST began her martial arts career at the tender age of 8 with the United States Karate Organization in Riverside, CA. Showing strong commitment and resolve in her training, she achieved the rank of Nidan, 2nd degree Black Belt, by 17. For over 10 years Tiffany not only dedicated herself to achieving excellence in her own training, but has also played an important role in the growth and development of hundreds of students as an instructor.

After achieving her personal goals of winning consecutive USKA State, National, and World karate titles (with some of her students doing the same), Tiffany decided to begin training in Muay Thai. Her tremendous athleticism and heart drive her to train and compete with the best. She currently is the USMTA featherweight champion of California with a record of 8-1 and is definitely looking to improve and gain more experience in the ring.

With plans of continuing on in Muay Thai and transitioning to MMA, Tiffany fights simply for the love of the sport and the competitive thrill. Outside of the gym, Tiffany is a student at Cal State San Marcos where she is earning her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and certifications in personal training. With the little free time left from her busy schedule, this laid back, mellow girl just likes to surf and have fun.

Bahia Blanca, Argentina;  WKF ARGENTINA president Senor Carlos SUAREZ start on March 10th with the 4th season of the Kickbox challenge in Argentina, know also as ” 2K9″ series.

This is the first Argentinian qualification for the World Championship in Varazdin.

Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea president Stanley NANDEX announce proudly the next high class event.

For the 12th time the PNG nationals with fighters from everywhere in the huge country. This are the trials for World Championship in Varazdin.

Next highlite is  start of the new martial arts movie with famous artists like Cynthia ROTHROCK , Don “the Dragon” WILSON, Michael Jai WHITE and of course PNG national hero and Superstar Stanley” the head-hunter” NANDEX , and all are present for this event.

Last deal is the negotiation with WKF Australia director Mr. Georges PERGIALIS for  a World title fight. This can be the crown of an amazing martial arts weekend in Oceania.

WKF INDIA president Mr. Yogesh Kumar Shad  team organise the trials in April 27th -30th for the World Championships in Varazdin. Mr. Yogesh prepare 3o + fighters and 6 officials and soon we have the Indian team in the registration procedure.

Varazdin, Croatia, mayor Mr. Goran HABUS and his Vice – mayor Mr. Vjeran RADELIC invited WKF European director Mr. Istvan ROZMAN and WKF World director Mr. Fritz EXENBERGER for a short status report 150 days before the World Championship.

The organising WKF CROATIA represented by Mr. Sinisa KOVACIC and president Mr. Hrvoje KISASONDI told about the preparations and the organisation.

Mr. Exenberger commit the preliminary confirmed registration list of more than 60 countries.

After talking about organisation details everybody was happy about the great progress.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE  FEBRUARY 24th !!!

Vienna, Austria; WKF head office organise the annual World referee Seminar on March 2nd-4th.

Until today we have more than 50 registrations from our male / female referees of 6 continents.

Because of many registrations World wide we must change the Venue to  4* Hotel KAVALIER, Linzer Strasse 165, 1140 Vienna, arriving time 3pm.

Please note:  the organisers can just book your Hotel if you transfer the fee at least two weeks before to our Bank account in Austria, together with your registration list.

The next host of the World referee seminar 2013 on 1st to 3rd March is scheduled for Kalisz in Poland.

All WKF referees, who not has attended the last seminar in Lviv 2011, must extend their license in Vienna. The extended License is valid for three Years again.

The transition period for licenses form other federations ends on February 29th.

Tallinn, Estonia;   WKF ESTONIA president Mr. Kristo KARU is also manager of the most important Estonian Thai Boxing Gym and also manager of local hero Kevin RENNO.

Kevin is also current WKA European Champion in Thai Boxing and Champion in other federations, but in the last month he was injured and had to cancel e.g. a tough fight in Switzerland too.

Former WKF World Champion Volodymir ARTEMENKO / UKR  agreed the challenge of the Estonian team but Artemenko injured his hand in preparation of this World title fight. WKF head office vacant the title -72,30 Kg in K-1 rules, and agreed Enriko GOGOKHIIA as new challenger.

So finally the fight was now for the vacant World title  -72,30 kg in K-1 rules, a battle between two real Champions.

The title fight was the main event of the Baltic Martial Arts game on the Baltic fight night.

1.500 people ring side in the hall plus local TV televised the event. First and second round was in the Ukraine corner on all three score cards.

In the third round Gogohiia hit the home town boy with few nice lowkicks and body punch and referee Leonardo PHILAKAS has two count.

After few seconds Renno has to take another standing 8 count but he showed his big heart and don´t want to give up.

But is was to late, after the 4th counting the fight was over, result KO by lowkick in 3 rd round.

The Estonian team was not satisfied but accept in fair play the clear decision. A re-match later in this Year is already in negotiation.
